In the heart of the charming historic center of Gallipoli, inside the historic and fascinating Corte Gallo, there is this small and authentic house on the ground floor, perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in the history and unique atmosphere of the “Pearl of the Ionian Sea”.

Casetta Gallo, simple but welcoming, can accommodate up to five people: it consists of a double bedroom, an air-conditioned kitchen with two sofa beds and a small and essential bathroom. Like many historic homes, it has some humidity, but this helps to keep it naturally cool during the summer months.

At the entrance, next to the door, there is a Lecce stone sink, an ancient washbasin once used to wash clothes, today a precious testimony of the daily life of the past and a fascinating detail for lovers of tradition.

The house takes its name from the courtyard in which it is located, Corte Gallo, one of the most fascinating in the historic center of Gallipoli. This small, landlocked square is characterized by an atmosphere of yesteryear, with balconies and windows, stone stairs and a unique Lecce stone altar dedicated in the past to Saint Anthony of Padua, with baroque twisted columns, probably carved from an ancient door. It is a silent but significant presence, which enriches the historical soul of the place.

In the past, the court was animated by scenes of daily life, including the passage of the waterman with the cart carrying barrels of water to quench the thirst of the inhabitants of the village.

The location is really special: in the historic center of Gallipoli, among white alleys, views of the sea and flowery balconies, a few steps from baroque churches, museums, underground oil mills and artisan shops. During summer, the entire area becomes a restricted traffic area, ensuring tranquility and security, ideal for evening walks and outdoor dining.

The house is just a few minutes' walk from the beautiful Purità beach, perfect for a dip at sunset or a relaxing day at the beach. Being in the historic center, it is not possible to park directly under the house, but there are free and paid parking spaces outside the walls, about a 10-minute walk away.

Standard preparation: the double bed will be prepared for every 1/2 guests.

Extra bed for a fee: if a group of two (2) guests wishes to use a second bed (e.g. to sleep separately), it is possible to request it with an additional cost of 25 euros for the entire stay to be paid in cash on site.
